Glorioso Considers Bid for Senate District 24 Seat

State Rep. Rich Glorioso said he would decide today, May 31, whether he would run for the Senate seat being vacated by Ronda Storms. That would pit him against State Rep. Rachel Burgin and former Senate President Tom Lee for the District 24 seat.

 

State Rep. Rich Glorioso said May 30 he would be "on his knees a lot tonight" to determine through prayer, and then in consultation with his wife and family, whether he, too, should join the race for the state Senate seat .

Glorioso made this announcement at the Legislative Update Luncheon presented by the Greater Brandon Chamber of Commerce at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Brandon on May 30.

If Glorioso were to run for the Senate, he would be removing his name from as Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections. Lennard, the former superintendent of schools, has decided not to seek another term.

Glorioso's time in the House has run its course due to term limits.

At the luncheon with him were Storms and State Rep. Rachel Burgin, who on May 26 Storms has held for six years.

She decided May 29 to drop her bid for reelection to the Senate to instead pursue her chance to unseat Rob Turner, the embattled property appraiser for Hillsborough County.
