‘Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters’ Opens, Movie Times and Trailer

Writer-director Tommy Wirkola's R-rated presentation of the folkloric Hansel & Gretel is "the latest attempt to gaft action revisionism onto classic fairy tales," according to a Los Angeles Times review, about Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters.

In this action-fantasy horror film, Hansel and Gretel are bounty hunters who track and kill withces worldwide. "As the fabled Blood Moon approaches, the siblings encounter a new form of evil that might hold a secret to their past," according to the film synopsis at IMDb.com.

Locally, Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters is opened Friday, Jan. 25, at AMC The Regency 20 in Brandon. (For show times throughout the week, see the list below.) According to Inside Movies at EW.com, the "poorly reviewed" film "topped the chart on its first Friday with $6.0 million from 3,372 theaters," leaving behind two other new movies, Parker and Movie 43.

AMC The Regency 20 is in the Regency Square shopping center at 2496 West Brandon Blvd., across the street from the Westfield Brandon entranceway east of the Interstate 75 interchange.
