Holiday Giving 2012: Local Donations Given and Received

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office's gave a $5,000 check to Operation Helping Hand. Cynthia Pinckney Ministries received $500 from Fifth Third Bank (Tampa Bay). Who else has been giving and receiving this holiday season?

  • Hillsborough County Sheriff David Gee was set to present a $5,000 check to Operation Helping Hand, at the group's Christmas dinner Dec. 20, at the James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital.

From: Fifth Third Bank (Tampa Bay)
To: Cynthia Pinckney Ministires

  • Brian Lamb, the president and chief executive officer of Fifth Third Bank (Tampa Bay), reportedly spent his time embroidering, screen-printing and designing a "limited edition" T-shirt, which was sold to Fifth Third employees to raise money for Logo ASAP’s choice charity — Cynthia Pinckney Ministries. A total of $500 was raised and presented to Cynthia Pinckney Charities.

From: The GFWC Brandon Junior Woman's League
To: Childen in need at Greater Brandon area schools

  • One of Brandon's oldest service clubs each year throws a holiday party for children in need, who otherwise might not receive Christmas gifts, as identified by their teachers and counselors at local elementary schools. This year's event was held at the First Presbyterian Church in Brandon (see photos). The honored guests received bags full of gifts and, in some instances, presents for their siblings as well.
