Looking Ahead: Construction Alerts for Greater Brandon Motorists (Through April 2)

As March draws to an end, the Florida Department of Transportation offers a number of construction alerts for roadways of particular interest to Greater Brandon motorists.

Construction Alerts: Interstate 4 / Selmon Expressway Connector Project:

• One lane might close on both the eastbound and westbound lanes of Interstate-4 between Exit 1 (22nd Street) and Exit 3 (50th Street), from 8 p.m.-5 a.m., March 27-31.

• One lane might close in each direction of Adamo Drive (State Road 60) between 26th and 34th streets, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., March 26 and March 28 to April 2.

• One lane might close on the eastbound Selmon Expressway (State Road 618) between Exit 9 (22nd Street) and 34th Street, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., March 26, and from 8 p.m.-5 a.m., March 27-31.

• One lane might close each way on State Road 45 (20th, 21st and 22nd streets) from State Road 60 to Durham Street, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., March 26 and March 28 to April 2, and from 7 p.m.-6 a.m., March 27-31.

• One lane will close in both directions of 34th Street from Adamo Drive (State Road 60) to Grace Street, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., March 26 and March 28 to April 2, and from 7 p.m.-5 a.m., March 27-31.

Construction Alerts: Interstate 75 Slab Repairs from Progress Boulevard to State Road 60  

• The eastbound Selmon Expressway (State Road 618) ramp onto northbound I-75 will close from 12:01 a.m. March 26 to 5 a.m. March 28. Traffic will detour to exit at Falkenburg Road to go north on Falkenburg, then east on State Road 60 to the entrance ramp to northbound I-75.

• The northbound U.S. Highway 301 entrance ramp onto northbound I-75 will close from 9 p.m. March 29 to 5 a.m. March 30. Traffic will detour north on northbound U.S. 301, then make a U-turn at the signalized intersection at Crescent Park Drive to go south on U.S. 301 to use the southbound U.S. 301 entrance ramp to northbound I-75.

• The portion of the southbound I-75 Exit 254 that leads to southbound U.S. 301 will close from 9 p.m. March 30 to 5 a.m. March 31. Traffic will detour to the northbound U.S. 301 exit ramp to U-turn at the signalized intersection at Crescent Park Drive to travel south on U.S. 301.

 If you're traveling in neighboring Plant City:

• One to two lanes will close for paving at night on eastbound I-4 between Exit 17 (Branch Forbes Road) and Exit 25 (County Line Road) on nights, from March 27 to April 1. Single-lane closures from 8 p.m.-6 a.m;  double-lane closures,  11 p.m.-5 a.m.
