Looking Ahead: Construction Alerts for Greater Brandon Motorists (Through March 24)

As March advances, the Florida Department of Transportation offers a number of construction alerts for roadways of particular interest to Greater Brandon motorists.

Construction Alerts: Interstate 4 / Selmon Expressway Connector Project:

• One lane might close on the eastbound Selmon Expressway (State Road 618) between Exit 9 (22nd Street) and 34th Street on March 20-24, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Also, on March 21-26, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• One lane might close in each direction on State Road 60 (Adamo Drive) between 26th and 34th streets on March 21-26, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.  

• One lane might close in each direction on State Road 45 (20th, 21st and 22d streets) from State Road 60 to Durham Street on March 20-24, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Also, on March 21-26, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• One lane will close in both directions of 34th Street from State Road 60 (Adamo Drive) to Grace Street on March 19 and March 21-26, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Also, on March 20-24, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Construction Alerts: Interstate 75 Slab Repairs from Progress Boulevard to State Road 60  

• The northbound U.S. Highway 301 entrance ramp onto northbound I-75 will close March 18 and March 21-24, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Traffic will continue north on northbound U.S. 301, then make a U-turn at the signalized intersection at Crescent Park Drive to go south on U.S. 301 and use the southbound U.S. 301 entrance ramp to northbound I-75.

• One lane will close on the long I-75 frontage road ramps between State Road 60 and U.S. Highway 301 on March 21-24 and March 27, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

• The eastbound Selmon Expressway (State Road 618) entrance ramp onto northbound I-75 will close March 26 at 12:01 a.m. to March 28 at 5 a.m. Traffic will detour to exit at Falkenburg Road and go north on Falkenburg, then east on State Road 60 to the entrance ramp to northbound I-75.

 If you're traveling in neighboring Plant City:

• One to two lanes will close for paving at night on eastbound I-4 between Exit 25 (County Line Road) and Exit 17 (Branch Forbes Road) on March 21-24 at night. Single-lane closures: from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Double-lane closures: 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.

• The westbound I-4 Exit 19 ramp to Thonotosassa Road (State Road 566) might close March 23-24, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., for resurfacing. Visit myTBI.com for scheduling and detour information.
