Main Event: Tonight at the 2011 Florida Strawberry Festival (March 12)

The 12th night of the 2011 Florida Strawberry Festival in Plant City gets underway in Plant City. What you need to know about the performances, shows, events, exhibits and more on the March 12 schedule. Coming Soon: Coverage of the Baby Parade.

Tonight’s entertainment at the 2011 Florida Festival Parade features headliner Billy Ray Cyrus, the Bluegrass Parlor Band with Cory and Jarrod Walker, Brady Goss, the Rev. Art Jones and the Bible-Based Fellowship Church Cathedral Choir and the Magic of Lance Gifford & Company

March 12 is one of two Farm Worker Appreciation days. Workers given vouchers by their employers are eligible to turn in that voucher for one free gate admission on either March 12 or March 13.

Billy Ray Cyrus is tonight’s , starting at 7:30 p.m. on the Wish Farm Soundstage. Tickets are available at the Stadium Ticket Office or the Main Ticket Office at Gate 1. Cost is $20 to $25. As with every headliner show, a few thousand free seats are available on a first- come, first-served basis, with seating in the adjacent Direct Auto Insurance Free Grandstands.

Also at the festival tonight:

  • The Bluegrass Parlor Band with Cory and Jarrod Walker, sponsored by SunTrust Bank, takes to the stage at 5 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. in the Cool Whip Strawberry Tent.
  • The Youth Steer Sale gets underway 7 p.m. in the Patterson Companies Livestock Arena, featuring steer raised by Hillsborough County students.
  • The Rev. Art Jones and the Bible-Based Fellowship Church Cathedral Choir is set to perform 7:30 p.m. in the Sweetbay Supermarket Showcase Tent.
  • The Pioneer Village showcases tools and traditional skills in a series woodwork and rope-making demonstrations throughout the day and night.
  • Brady Goss, sponsored by Florida Technical College, is set to perform in the Cool Whip Whipped Topping Entertainment Tent at 7 p.m.
  • The 9-foot-tall Rock-It-The-Robot covers the dance floor with moves that range from country to hip-hop with a show that starts at 7 p.m.
  • Show your support for Tobacco Free Florida, on the Strawberry Festival Ground tonight.
  • Test drive a Ford and receive a free piece of strawberry shortcake.
  • The Magic of Lance Gifford & Company is set to perform in the Sweetbay Supermarket Showcase Tent at 6 p.m.
  • Explore Neighborhood Village, which features handcrafted goods and artistic cakes. Taste a sampling of Vermont’s famous Cabot cheese.
