Today's events include the "NovemberQue" barbecue cook-off, with proceeds benefiting the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, which provides full-scholarship grants and educational and family counseling to the surviving children of special operations personnel who die in operational or training missions. The foundation also offers immediate financial assistance to severely wounded special operations personnel and their families.

The special recognition of all military members in attendance — the salute to veterans — is scheduled to begin at noon, featuring local students, including the Newsome High School JROTC color guard and the National Anthem performed by Brandon High School's Aquilla 13 choir.
