The Ninth Annual Back-To-School Festival is under way through noon today, July 23, at the  in Lithia.

Presented by the FishHawk Area Networking Group (FANG), the event features some 100 businesses and services in the Greater Brandon area.

About one-tenth of the exhibitors are restaurants offering taste samples.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office and Hillsborough County Fire Rescue will be on hand as well, with music, door prizes and giveaways rounding out the day’s offerings.

Free entertainment, too, will be provided by such groups as Music Showcase of Brandon, the Theatre Arts & Dance Alliance (TADA) and Sidekicks Martial Arts.

The FANG website asks that attendees bring $10 worth of school supplies to donate to the YMCA for its backpack program, to benefit children in need of school supplies. Otherwise, admission to the event is a $10 donation per family.
