Hillsborough County Extension’s Parenting Classes Kick Off May 5

A balanced parenting style, enhancing your child's self-esteem, effective discipline techniques and managing stress will be some of the topics covered in the class.

A balanced parenting style, enhancing your child’s self-esteem, effective discipline techniques and managing stress will be some of the topics covered in the class.

There are few, if any, parents who will say they are perfect so the Hillsborough County Extension is offering a chance to improve your parenting skills.

Every parent becomes confused, frustrated, weary and unsure of what to do next.  During the classes parents can talk to other parents about successes and challenges, and find out how to make parenting a more positive experience for all.

The material covered will include: A balanced parenting style, enhancing your child’s self-esteem, effective discipline techniques and managing stress.

Classes will be held at the County’s Extension office, 5339 County Road 579 in Seffner on the following dates: Thursdays 9:30 a.m. - 11:45 a.m., May 5, 12, 19 or June 2, 9, 23.

The three-session classes will be offered throughout the year. Check the county’s parenting web site for more dates.

The cost for all three sessions is $15, and registration can be completed online or by contacting Diana Converse, family life educator, Hillsborough County Extension at (813) 744-5519, Ext. x140.
