Section Of Roadway Collapses at Windhorst Road and Parsons Avenue

A collapsed section of roadway is under investigation as Hillsborough County workers July 19 set up barricades and anticipated closing one northbound lane of Parsons and the westbound turn lanes on Windhorst.

The collapse of a section of roadway at Windhorst Road and Parsons Avenue in Brandon is creating a headache for drivers tonight, July 19.

County officials are warning drivers to avoid the intersection.

Hillsborough County Public Utilities Department crews are investigating whether a 16-inch sewage pipeline beneath the intersection is the cause of the collapse of a 6-foot-square section of roadway.

Crews are placing barricades and anticipate closing one northbound lane of Parsons, and the westbound turn lanes on Windhorst.

Additional detours and lane closures are possible as crews dig up the line for inspection and any necessary repairs.

Motorists who must travel through the intersection are warned to expect delays.

It is not known at this time how long the work will take or how long traffic will be impacted.

hummmm.... sink holes have been turning up all around here, plus the new development by RIPA may be the reason for cracks appearing on houses that back up to the development. Families report windows and pictures on walls shacking... could be a connection. You may contact me at: millerlites@mac.com
