"Spring Breakers," filmed in the Tampa Bay area with some local talent, premieres today in Brandon and other area theaters.
Connie Francis may have started the spring break movie tradition with "Where the Boys Are," set in Fort Lauderdale.
But this is not your grandma's spring break. Far from it.
Think "Pulp Fiction" meets "Girls Gone Wild," and you may have just an inkling of what to expect in this film, which stars gun-toting teen starlets in bikinis whose characters get mixed up with some bad seeds in South Florida.
Some people are saying that the movie showcases local talent, such as local rapper, Dangeruss, as well as local sites along the Gulf Coast. Others worry that it gives a bad impression of the Tampa Bay area. Let us know what you think.
