Strong Storms Moving into the Brandon Area

Heavy rain and storms are expected this weekend. Here's what you need to know in the Brandon area.

Don't let this morning's mild weather fool you: The National Weather Service says strong storms are headed our way.

A large, low-pressure system is moving into the Tampa Bay area and potentially severe thunderstorms are anticipated to follow along with it, according to a hazardous weather report.

"Heavy rainfall is expected with this system and a widespread 1 to 3 inches will be possible with locally heavier amounts," the report said. Forecasters say some minor localized flooding is possible.
