Areas of concern in Greater Brandon are at Causeway Boulevard, Clay Avenue and Seffner/Valrico Road, Anthony Street, Millifold Road and U.S. Highway 301 (see list below).

We've been asked to remind motorists that:

  • High water on roads will quickly stall motor vehicles.
  • Most trucks and four-wheel drive vehicles are susceptible to begin swept away by high water.
  • Vehicles approaching intersections with broken traffic lights should treat that intersection as a four-way stop.

Motorists are urged to stay attentive to flooded areas. "If you are approaching a flooded roadway, turn around and take an alternate route," the news report advises.

The following areas of concern have been noted, with an update expected to be sent after 8 a.m., according to sheriff's spokesman Larry McKinnon. (Brandon Patch will update the list below accordingly as the news is received.)
