Homecoming Dance Oct. 12 For All Chidlren's Hospital Patients

 All Children’s Hospital will host its first homecoming dance on Saturday, Oct. 12,  "for patients who are unable to attend their own homecoming due to hospitalization or who, due to life-limiting illness, will most likely never get the opportunity."

According to the announcement, the event will kick off earlier in the day with a focus on style, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; at that time, professional hair and makeup and nail stylists will provide patient makeovers.

The dance is scheduled for 7 to 10 p.m., in the All Children's Hospital Education and Conference Center, at 701 South Fourth Street in St. Petersburg.

"The red carpet will roll and the patients will be escorted into an evening of music, dance and memories," according to the All Children's news release.

Billed as a "second home to many of our sickest patient," hospital workers are hosting a homecoming "rite of passage" to give patients to "a piece of 'normalcy' " and to help them "regain a piece of their childhood."

"This event honors the ACH values, which encompass compassion, hope, inspiration and teamwork to produce a premier experiences for patients and families," the release continues.
