JOY GREEN – COUNTY COMMISSIONER DISTRICT 4 CANDIDATE

As a No Party Candidate (NPA) Joy Green is seeking the office of County Commissioner, Dist. 4.  In the marketplace, in the schools, in the streets and in every facet of our society Joy’s goal is to find answers to tough problems. With collaboration and empathy, she will be working across the table to bring solutions.   She believes our greatest resources are within us, real people in the community with creative ideas and answers. 

“The Green Solution” – Reflect, Connect, Apply.  Joy speaks of the necessity to stop and REFLECT on the serious issues in our county and prioritize what is most important to our citizens.  We must come together and CONNECT across the table and develop a feasible action plan for Hillsborough County.  Finally, it is essential that we working tirelessly to APPLY these resolutions to ensure that every citizen thrives and every business prospers.

Joy is concerned about the ethical climate of our local government.  According to Integrity Florida, our state is ranked number one in political corruption.  We must prevent the mismanagement and theft of public funds.  The citizens of Hillsborough County don’t deserve this!  She believes that integrity in our leaders and transparency in government are key components to assure that our tax dollars are spent wisely.

As a business owner, her company Rise to the Top Tutoring Company, serves the children of Hillsborough County, providing them with the help needed to succeed and avoid falling through the cracks. As families are struggling to make ends meet, the children are often at risk.  It is our responsibility to make sure that they are safe, receiving a quality education, and that our teachers and administrators are being compensated adequately.

She is an avid advocate for women and is tackling social issues such as human trafficking, homelessness, and domestic abuse.  Joy partners with organizations that mentor, train and educate women and girls to empower them to bring social change to their families, communities and nations.

Joy is a graduate of the Women’s Campaign School at Yale Law School, Connecticut, and has a degree in Management and Organizational Leadership from St. Petersburg College, Florida.  As Regional Director for Aglow International, she oversees Florida, Georgia and S. Carolina with approximately 3,000 women under her leadership. 

Joy Green is married to Dann, has three adult children, Sara, Brett and Troy and two grandchildren, Kylie and Braden.  She believes her compassion, dedication and experience have prepared her to serve the people of Hillsborough County as County Commissioner.
