Memorial Fund Set for Infant Daughter of I-75 Crash Victim, Brandon High Grad

The family of Robert Paul Armstrong Jr., 19, is asking in lieu of flowers contributions be made to an account set up for his daughter.

An account has been established to collect funds for the infant daughter of a Brandon High School graduate who will be laid to rest today following a funeral service at on Brandon Boulevard.

Robert Paul Armstrong Jr., 19, from the Class of 2010, was killed in an early morning accident on Interstate 75, near State Road 60, while working along the shoulder of the highway for Pepper Construction, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

Workers reportedly were moving traffic-control devices and message boards when a pickup truck, driven by Logan Tanner Feagle of Land O' Lakes, struck a message board trailer before hitting Armstrong, who died on the scene.

The accident is reported to have occurred June 14, at around 4:30 a.m.

The funeral service is June 17, at 2 p.m., at Stowers Funeral Home, 401 West Brandon Blvd.

According to his online obituary, Armstrong "enjoyed fishing, tubing and wake boarding" and played Little League in the Greater Brandon community. He is survived by his mother, Lorraine; father, Robert; step-mother, Cindy; fiancée, Tiffany Coleman; daughter, Savannah Armstrong; paternal grandparents, Robert and Barbara Armstrong; maternal grandparents, Barbara and Ken Davis; brothers, Zachary and Tyler; sisters, Meagan Armstrong and Braden Leek.

 In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to an account in support of Armstrong's infant daughter. Make checks payable to, "Savannah Armstrong," Account No. 229040986842, at Bank of America.
