93 Students at McClane Middle School Treated After 'Pepper Spray Incident'

Dozens of students from McLane Middle School are being treated after someone used pepper spray or mace in a room at the school.

Dozens of students from E.F. McLane Middle School are being treated after a student used pepper spray or mace at the school this afternoon, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

"Hillsborough County Fire Rescue is responding to the scene and several ambulances have been called to the school," ABCActionNews.com reports.

Ninety-three students and three teachers were affected by the incident, which happened at around 2:45 p.m., according to the sheriff's report.

Several people affected were transported to Brandon Regional Hospital, according to Action News report.

"At this time all injuries are minor," said sheriff's spokeserson Larry McKinnon, in an email alert to the media.

On the scene at 4:35 p.m., Brandon Patch editor Linda Chion Kenney reports very heavy rains, at least five sheriff's deuties cars parked outside the school, on West Sadie Street,  and two lines of school buses parked on Knights Avenue.
