‘Armed and Dangerous’ Robber Sought in Plant City Credit Union Robbery

The Plant City Police Department seeks the public's help in finding William David Mounts, who allegedly robbed the GTE Federal Credit Union on James L. Redman Parkway on Feb. 12. Mounts reportedly has "a violent criminal history."



The Plant City Police Department is asking for the public's help in tracking
down a man who robbed the James L. Redman Parkway Branch of the GTE Federal Credit Union on Tuesday, Feb. 12, at around 5:25 p.m.

Plant City detectives, with the help of the Polk County Sheriff's Office and probation and parole officers have identified the suspect as William David Mounts, 32. He is considered "armed and dangerous" and has "a violent criminal history," according to the police report.

"Anyone coming into contact with Mounts should not attempt to confront him, but report his location to the police immediately," the report notes.

Detectives believe Mounts still is in the area.

The robbery reportedly occurred at 2201 James L. Redman Pkwy.

Anyone with information is asked to call Sgt. James Cross of the Plant City Police Department at 813-757-9200. Mounts is assigned to the major crimes unit.
