Charges have been filed against Jared J. Richardson, 18, of Brandon, in connection with in South Tampa.
Richardson was arrested late Sunday night on charges of aggravated battery, robbery and possession of marijuana. According to TBO.com, officers also seized Richardson's gold 2002 Chevrolet Impala, which they say was used during the beating.
Richardson is being held on $15,500 bail, according to Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office records.
Detectives have arrested a Brandon man in connection with the vicious beating and robbery of a U.S. Army soldier in South Tampa, Tampa Police said Monday morning.
The suspect, Jared Richardson, 18, of 868 Bayou View Dr., is that was caught on camera. Four men were seen on the video punching and kicking Aparicio in the early hours of May 13 as he was walking home near Iowa Avenue West and Renellie Drive South in Tampa.
Two other 18-year old men — Geroshe Lewis, of 4712 W. Wallcraft Ave., and Lerome Howard, of 8013 N. 13th St. — were arrested last week and charged with robbery and aggravated battery.
Lewis , officials said.
A has been posted by a local law firm, a local church and two private citizens for information leading to arrests in the case. Detectives said they received dozens of tips with potential suspect names, some of which helped lead to last week's arrests.
Aparicio, who is assigned to U.S. Central Command at MacDill Air Force Base, is recovering from his injuries, according to Tampa Police. He was released from the hospital last Wednesday.
A Tampa Police spokesperson said the department would release more details about the latest arrest at 10 a.m. Monday.
