Brandon Teen Arrested on Sexual Battery Charges; Case in Connecticut
Samir Bates was taken into custody by the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. A warrant for his arrest was issued in Connecticut.
An 18-year-old Brandon man was arrested June 17 by Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies on charges relating to an alleged sexual battery in Connecticut.
Samir Bates of 1404 Highview Road was arrested at 2:50 a.m. at the junction of Limona Road and Victoria Street. He was being held without bond pending extradition.
There had been a Connecticut warrant out for Bates arrest, according to a sheriff's office arrest report.

According to the Hartford Courant, Bates and Sean Simpson allegedly forced two females to perform sex acts on them. Simpson was arraigned June 14 in Connecticut. Both alleged victims are under 18.
Part of the alleged incident was also recorded on a cell phone and one of the women can be heard saying "no" repeatedly, according to the Courant report quoting the arrest warrant.
