Deadly Crash Shuts Down US 301 In Thonotosassa

Two people driving in car in the wrong lane collided with a Sweetbay truck, according to the FHP.

UPDATE: U.S. 301 has reopened after an early morning crash.

A deadly crash on U.S. 301 at McIntosh Road in Thonotosassa will have the roadway closed until at least 3 p.m. today, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Two people driving in car in the wrong lane collided with a Sweetbay truck, according to the FHP report on the incident.

Both the driver and passenger in the car died at the scene. The truck driver received minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
