Deputy Shoots Trespasser Between Barnacles and Walgreens in Brandon

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is on the scene at Providence Road and Causeway Boulevard after a deputy reportedly shot a trespasser following an altercation.

Deputies are on the scene April 13 following a shooting that involved a deputy and a trespasser behind the Walgreens at Providence Road and Causeway Boulevard, according to Debbie Carter, a spokesperson for the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

“Preliminary information is that at approximately 1:30 p.m. deputies responded to the at Providence and Causeway in reference to a trespasser,” Carter said. “The deputy got involved in a physical altercation with the trespasser, resulting in the trespasser being shot.”

Speaking by phone shortly before 3 p.m., Carter said the last known condition of the trespasser, whose identity was not yet being released, was critical.
