Details Released In Death Of Motorcyclist In I-4 Crash
A 2001 Kawaski was traveling westbound in the outside lane of I-4 when the Sonata drove into the right lane in front of the motorcycle.
UPDATE: The motorcyclist who died in the Aug. 23 crash on Interstate 4 has been identified as Joseph Malette Glover, 70, of Haines City.
Investigators have released the details of a crash that left motorcyclist dead and closed lanes on Interstate 4 in the Greater Brandon area for hours during the morning rush hour last week.
The accident occurred at 8:19 a.m. Aug. 23 when a Hyudai Sonata driven by Charles Lee of Port Orange was heading west on I-4 in the center lane just east of the exit ramp to Interstate 75, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The bike collided with the rear of Sonata, throwing the motorcyclist onto the road. The motorcyclist died at the scene. The identity of the victim has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

The center and outside lanes of Interstate 4 were closed for two hours due to the crash and resulting investigation.
This incident remains under investigation.
The crash followed an in the area involving a tractor trailer and several cars. Traffic was backed up for several miles as a result.
