Detention Deputy's Attendance, Commitment Cited With Quarterly Award

Master Deputy John Jones earns the third-quarter Detention Deputy of the Quarter award from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. The recognition comes with a watch from Bill Currie Ford.

Annually each quarter, members of the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, at the jail assembly room in Greater Brandon, meet to bestow upon a detention deputy an award for consistently displaying "high motivation" on the job.

Master Deputy John Jones, for the third quarter of 2011, received the honor, which brings with it a watch of appreciation from Bill Currie Ford.

Jones is assigned to the transportation bureau and has been with the sheriff's office since 1997.

"When a new deputy is assigned to the transportation bureau, Master Deputy Jones has taken on the role as a field training officer, even though no formal position exists in the bureau," said Major Mike Perotti, in reading from the prepared remarks at the Sept. 14 awards ceremony, at 520 North Falkenburg Road.

"In addition, he is consistently selected to conduct high profile transports," Perotti said.
