Dozens of Recent Car Break-Ins Have Sheriff's Office Asking for Help

More than 55 vehicles have been burglarized in the area in recent weeks.

In the last month, residents of the Brandon area have been among the dozens of victims in a rash of vehicle break-ins, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

Between March 13 and April 17, more than 55 vehicles have been burglarized in Valrico, Brandon and Seffner areas, they say.

Suspects are mainly stealing laptops and cell phones from cars with unlocked doors, or they are smashing windows to gain entry.

A recent surveillance video obtained by the Sheriff's office shows a male wearing dark clothing allegedly burglarizing 3 vehicles within the Lake Shore Ranch subdivision, near Wheeler Road.
