Fire Rescue Responds to Gas Leak on Cottage Forrest Court

Traffic was backed up as Hillsborough County Fire Rescue units responded to a report that a construction crew accidentally cut a gas line.

A natural gas leak caused traffic delays Friday morning, March 29, as a Hazmat crew worked to contain a line that had been severed at 1702 Cottage Forrest Court in Brandon.

A construction crew doing some work cut the line by accident, according to the Hillsborough County Fire Rescue report.

Fire rescue crews quickly protected the area with fire hoses and the Hazmat crew clamped the line.

The report further notes that traffic backed up on Lakewood Drive and that workers from the Tampa Electric Company (TECO) responded to the scene and finished clamping the leak.
