Help Deputy Dan Witt, Raffle Items Donated by Local Businesses

The WittFest Rockin' the Cause Fish Fry fundraiser for 33-year-old Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office deputy Dan Witt and his family, at O'Brien's Irish Pub and Family Restaurant, is picking up steam.

"Dan has worked very hard to help keep our streets safe, now it's our turn to do what we can to help him," reads a post on the Facebook page for the event. "All money raised will go to Dan and his family. Let's all join together to help Dan and his family this holiday season."

Here's how to participate:

• To contribute by check, make the check payable to "The Lynn Sowers Memorial Foundation" and write "Dan Witt" in the memo space. The foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established to financially assist sheriff's office employees who suffer an unforseen catastrophic event. • Call O'Brien's no later than today, Dec. 13, to place advance to-go orders for a meal of fried fish and fries, donated by O'Brien's and with free Dec. 14 delivery by TakeOutButler.com for business orders of 10 or more. Call: 813-662-9688.

• Fish fry meals cost $7.99 and are available for dine-in and pick-up orders all day Friday, Dec. 14.

The fundraiser will continue at O'Brien's with live entertainment by the hard rock band, Scream Machine, starting at 7 p.m. Dec. 14. The band's lead singer, John Hajj, is also the community resource deputy for Northdale. Hajj is organizing Friday's fundraiser.

A raffle drawing will be held at O'Brien's on Dec. 14, at 9 p.m. Tickets costs $5 each or five for $20. Tickets will be available throughout the day at O'Brien's, starting at 11 a.m. You do not need to be present to win. Donated raffle items include:

• 10 pairs of general admission tickets for the Bubba Raceway Park-Ocala
