Hit-and-Run Death, Injury Spark Investigation Into Turkey Creek Accident

Plant City police report that Brandon Michael Sullivan, 16, lost his life in a hit-and-run accident Jan. 22 on Turkey Creek Road. Erick Gonzalez, 15, remains hospitalized with a broken leg. Officers ask for the public's help in locating the driver.

 

One teen is dead and another hospitalized following a reported hit-and-run accident on Turkey Creek Road.

The Plant City Police Department seeks the public's help in investigating an accident that caused the death of Brandon Michael Sullivan, 16, who was reportedly walking northbound along the west side of Turkey Creek Road, about a half-mile north of State Road 574, when he was struck.

With him was Erick Gonzalez, 15, who reportedly was taken to South Florida Baptist Hospital, where he remains hospitalized with a broken leg.

The accident reportedly occurred Jan. 22, at about 7:40 p.m., after both boys left a convenience store and were walking back to Sullivan's home.

The "suspect vehicle" and "driver fled prior to the arrival of officers," according to the police report.

Officers are looking for "a white, older model, four-door Cadillac or Crown Victoria" and "possibly with a broken windshield, damage to the right-side mirror, and front-end damage."

The vehicle was last seen traveling southbound on Turkey Creek Road, toward State Road 574.
