Update: Adamo Drive Exit to Reopen After Suicide Threat

The SWAT team had been called out to the overpass after he was threatening to kill himself.

Update, 12:36 p.m.: The man threatening suicide under the overpass at Intersate 75 and Adamo Drive has been taken into custody without incident, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office reports. The roads should open within the next 15 minutes.

The southbound Adamo Drive exit off of Interstate 75 and a nearby Brandon road have been closed as law enforcement officials are responding to a man threatening suicide, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office reported Tuesday.

The sheriff's office responded to the area of Adamo Drive and I-75, underneath the overpass, after receiving a cell phone call around 10 a.m. from a man threatening to kill himself. The SWAT team has been called out, according to a news release, and deputies are talking with him on the phone.

Grand Regency Boulevard is closed westbound, and the southbound Adamo Drive exit off I-75 that proceeds westbound is also closed, the sheriff's office reported.
