Lithia Woman Facing Murder Charge After Shotgun Death of Boyfriend

Sarah Ann Wilson allegedly told two people she had shot Timothy Miller in the head while he slept.

A Lithia woman is facing a second-degree murder charge after she allegedly shot her sleeping boyfriend in the back of the head with a shotgun, detectives say.

Sarah Ann Wilson, 22, was arrested Tuesday night, Nov. 1, at midnight.

According to Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office detectives, Timothy Miller, 50, and his girlfriend, Wilson, had a verbal argument Oct. 29 because Wilson allegedly took the victim’s truck without asking to go smoke crack cocaine early that morning.

Miller was sleeping on a bed in the living room at the home the two shared at 10216 Dry Bridge Rd. in Lithia at 9 p.m. on Oct. 30 when Miller allegedly shot Wilson in the back of the head with a .410 shotgun.

Wilson allegedly made statements to a witness the next day indicating that she killed her boyfriend by shooting him in the head with a shotgun at their residence. Wilson then allegedly transported the witness to the home in Lithia, where the witness saw Miller’s body.

On the same day, Nov. 1, Wilson also allegedly told another person that she had killed her boyfriend by shooting him in the head with a shotgun while at their residence. That person notified the Tampa Police Department, who then called the sheriff's office because the Dry Bridge address was in the county.

Making a forced entrance to the home after no one answered the door at the home on Dry Bridge Road later that day, sheriff’s office deputies found Miller’s body in the living room.

Later that day, Tampa Police also recovered the Miller’s pickup truck in the area of 50th and Broadway, where it had been abandoned.

Wilson was later found by sheriff's office detectives at the Tampa 8 Motel, 4350 East Old Columbus Dr., where she was then taken to the Criminal Investigation Division for an interview. At approximately midnight Nov. 1, Wilson was charged with second-degree murder with a firearm.
