Lumsden Road Vehicle Break-Ins Yield Urgent Reminder — Again

Another series of car break-ins has the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office once again posting crime prevention tips for public safety. The one best thing you can do to thwart a vehicle break-in? Lock your doors.

 

Another series of car break-ins, this time caught by surveillance cameras on Lumsden Road in Brandon, lead to another reminder from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

"Please remind shoppers, or anyone parking their cars, to LOCK [their] car doors
and roll up [their] windows," reads the sheriff's report about the Nov. 19 incident, caught on Shapes fitness center surveillance cameras, at 731 Lumsden Road.

Offered as additional tips:

  • Place all packages in your trunk so they are not visible to individuals walking close to your vehicle.
  • Don't leave cell phones, purses or other items in your parked car where they can be seen.
  • Remember where you parked your vehicle and have your car keys in hand when approaching your vehicle.
