Man Found Dead in Brandon Identified as Wilkin Mieses Baker
The 27-year-old found dead, lying face down in the grass on the east side of Providence Road in Brandon, at the north side of Extra Space Storage, leaves many unanswered questions. The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office needs your help.
The man found dead in Brandon, lying face down in the grass at the north side of Extra Space Storage on the east side of Providence Road, has been identified as Wilkin Mieses Baker, 27, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.
The report notes his last known address as 1340 Coolmont Drive, Brandon.

The investigation has been ruled a homicide, "due to violent upper-body trauma," according to the sheriff's office report issued the day of the body's discovery, by a landscaper working in the area early in the morning May 14.

"What we need to figure out is who he was, why he was here and how he died," said Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Larry McKinnon, at the scene May 14.

"Anytime you have an unexplained death or suspicious death we want the community to remain focused," McKinnon said. "Keep your eyes and ears open until we can determine exactly what happened. Anyone who might have heard or seen anything suspicious in this area during the last 24 hours, they're asked to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office."
