Memorial Day Patrols Heightened To Nab Drunken Drivers
It's never a safe bet to drink and drive. The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has extra money to patrol streets in the Greater Brandon area and beyond for the 2013 Memorial Day weekend.
Memorial Day patrols aimed at ridding the streets of drunken drivers have been ramped up this year thanks to extra money the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has received through a grant from the Florida Department of Transportation.
That means two things: lots of cruisers on the street and yet another reminder that drinking and driving not only don't mix but also can get you into a heap of costly trouble.

“The Sheriff's Operation 3D DUI Squad will search for impaired drivers operating on county roadways and near county parks known for active outdoor activities, including county parks with boat ramps,” the sheriff’s office warns in a news release.
With the warning comes the reminder to drink responsibly.
Simply put: Don't drink and drive.
