Officials stress that at this time this is not an Amber Alert, which needs to meet five critera: the child must be under age 18; there must be a clear sign of abduction; if there is no clear indication of abduction, the law enforcement agency's indication must conclude that the child's life is in danger; there must be a detailed description of the child, and/or abductor/vehicle to broadcast to the public; and activation must be recommended by the local law enforcement agency of jurisdiction.

Tampa Police spokesperson Andrea Davis said in an email before 3 p.m. Nov. 23 that she had expected to post additional photographs after Damon's father returned home from "a meeting with detectives and the Center for Missing and Exploited Children."

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Damon is asked to contact the Tampa Police Department at 813-231-6130. Or, call 911.
