Motorcyclist Dies, Ejected Into Stock Trailer On McIntosh Road

Motorcyclist Steven Michael O'Neal, 56, of Valrico was traveling south on McIntosh Road when the fatal accident occurred.

Brandon mourns the loss of motorcyclist Steven Michael O'Neal, 56, of Valrico, who died Saturday, Sept. 21, on McIntosh Road in Plant City, after failing to stop for a stopped vechicle, according to a report from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

The report notes that O'Neal, driving a 2006 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, was traveling southbound on McIntosh Road, at about 50 miles per hour, when the accident at 8:10 p.m.

That's when 38-year-old Robert Alton Henderson Jr., of Plant City, was stopped facing south on McIntosh Road, waiting to turn left to travel east on Franklin Road. He was driving a 1999 Fort F-350 and towing a stock trailer.

"O'Neal failed to observe Henderson's vehicle stopped in front of him," the report notes. That's when O'Neal reportedly struck the trailer and "was ejected from his motorcycle into the back of the stock trailer and suffered fatal injuries."
