Mystery Surrounds Human Bone Found on Brandon Construction Site

Investigators have been on the scene at a construction site in Brandon, at Providence Lake Boulevard, south of Causeway Boulevard, attempting to discover why a human bone was found there Dec. 15.

 

A citizen on Providence Lake Boulevard, out walking a dog south of Causeway Boulevard, made a grisly discovery this week — a human bone.

“The bone is a human femur,” according to the report from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, about the Dec. 15 discovery. Not known is whether the bone belonged to a man or woman.

The bone has been turned over to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement for DNA testing.

The construction site where the discovery was made has been secured since Saturday for further investigation.

As of Tuesday, Dec. 18, no additional bones had been found.

Investigators from the sheriff’s office and the University of South Florida, along with Hillsborough County maintenance workers, were expected to be on the scene throughout the week.
