Pickpocket's Swipe At Ross Nets Best Buy, Apple Purchases

Wanted for identity theft and credit fraud are a man and woman caught on surveillance tape entering Best Buy in Brandon.

The hunt is on for a couple caught on tape entering Ross Dress for Less in Brandon, where a woman's wallet was stolen out of her purse while she shopped, according to a report from the  Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

The woman seen on tape reportedly stole the wallet, from which the pilfered credit credits were used later in the day at the Apple store at the Westfield Brandon shopping mall and at Best Buy on Grand Regency Boulevard.

Wanted is a 5-foot-10, 190-pound Hispanic male, age 30 to 40, seen on tape wearing a black T-shirt, blue jeans and black shoes.

Also sought is a 5-foot-2, 150-pound Hispanic female, age 30 to 49, seen wearing a red shirt with a white design, dark or black causal pants and sandals.

According to the reported sequence of events, the woman stole the wallet at Ross, 135 Brandon Town Center Drive, on Sunday morning, July 7.

"By the time the victim discovered that her wallet was missing and she called to cancel her credit cards, her cards had already been used," according to the sheriff's office report.

A stolen credit card reportedly was used at the Apple store in the mall, at 459 Brandon Town Center Drive, for a purchase that amounted to $1,677.

The couple of Hispanic descent was observed using a stolen credit card at Best Buy, 116 Grand Regency Blvd., to buy a Nikon camera and accessories amounting to $3,017.38, also according to the report.
