Pain Pill Theft Attempt Caught on CVS Surveillance Camera in Seffner

A CVS pharmacist in Seffner was handed a note demanding Oxycodone, Roxycodone or Opanam. The suspect, wearing a Western Kentucky University sweatshirt, threatened violence and fled on foot, without the pills.

After handing over a note that demanded one of three types of prescription pain killers from a CVS pharmacist in Seffner, a man wearing a Western Kentucky University sweatshirt fled on foot, empty handed, according to a Hillsborough County Sheriff’s report.

The man, caught on surveillance video and described as between the ages 18 and 30, with blonde hair and blue eyes, “made a threat of violence if he did not receive the medications,” according to the report on the incident, at 704 Dr. Martin Luther King Blvd.

The incident reportedly took place Jan. 18, shortly after 9:30 p.m., when the suspect  gave the pharmacist a note that demanded Oxycodone, Roxycodone or Opanam.

No weapon “was seen or implied” and the suspect fled the store “while the pharmacist was attempting to retrieve the pills,” according to the report.

No vehicle was reported seen as well.

The suspect is described as approximately 5-foot-10, weighing 160 to 170 pounds, wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt with red- and-white lettering “WKU” on the front. He also was reported wearing an orange baseball cap, black jeans and white tennis shoes.
