Report Of Gun Prompts Lockdown At Brandon High School

Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office detectives interviewed several students but no gun was found.

Reports of a gun on campus prompted a lockdown at on Monday, Oct. 3.

“There was a report that someone at the school might have a weapon,” said Linda Cobbe, a spokesperson for Hillsborough County Schools.

The report prompted an immediate lockdown at the school at around noon. The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office was called to the school and interviewed several students.

“They had some names and pulled some students out of class and interviewed them. They also searched certain areas of the school,” Cobbe said. “But nothing was found.”

The lockdown ended at 2:30 p.m.
