Major Cargo Theft Case Cracked; Rolando Coca Indicted
Details emerge at a Feb. 16 press conference detailing the scope of the investigation from Tampa to Miami.

“That’s what this case came down to,” said Hillsborough County Sheriff David Gee
The tape turned out to be key piece of evidence in a 12-agency investigation that led to the federal indictment of Coca, believed to be the ringleader of a major cargo-theft operation.

Details of the investigation were announced Feb. 16 at a press conference at the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
It was reported that Coca, head of the Coca family, “committed a high-dollar burglary at a military contractor’s facility” in Tampa, which amounted to about $7.4 million in stolen property, of which $4.7 million has been recovered.
