Shooting Death Reported on Cimmaron Run Drive in Valrico
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office reports that a 911 call received 11:30 p.m. Oct. 29 first alerted detectives to a shooting death at 2005 Cimmaron Run Drive in Valrico, north of Durant Road.
Detectives early this morning are on the scene of a shooting death in the Greater Brandon community of Valrico, at 2005 Cimmaron Run Drive, north of Durant Road. The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office reports that the 911 call was received last night, Oct. 29, at 11:30 p.m.

According to the report, the shooter called 911 and "stated that he had shot an intruder to his home."

The shooter and the victim reportedly knew each other "and have had an ongoing dispute between them," the report notes. "It appears that the victim kicked in the door of the garage and was then shot by the resident."

The 5:30 a.m. report noted that detectives at the time were working to secure a search warrant and hoping to enter the residence within the next hour. Detectives were conducting interviews and had not yet released the names of both the shooter and the victim. Next of kin reportedly had been notified.
