Shoot-Out at Brandon Apartment Sends Boyfriend to Hopsital

Shot in the parking lot, the victim reportedly knew his male assailant, then was rushed to Brandon Regional Hospital by his girlfriend, according to a Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office report.

Shots fired in the parking lot of a Brandon apartment complex left one man in the care of his girlfriend, who rushed him to Brandon Regional Hospital, where he was later airlifted to Tampa General Hospital, suffering from gunshot wounds, according to a Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office report.

According to the report, Jonathan Diaz, 31, and a known male acquaintance got into an argument June 17 "in the parking lot of the victim's apartment complex," at 1652 Providence Trace Circle, which is the address for Cypress Trace apartments.

Reportedly "both the victim and the other subject were armed and shots
were fired, which resulted in the victim being shot several times."

It was not known if the other man was shot as well.

Deputies responded to Brandon Regional Hospital at 4:54 p.m. and issued their report about five hours later, noting that Diaz was listed in stable condition at Tampa General Hospital.
