The intersection of U.S. 301 and Bloomingdale Avenue has claimed another life.
A teenage Tampa bicyclist died July 28 when he collided with a pickup truck at the intersection.
The crash occurred at 9:09 p.m., when Morris L. Taylor, 14, and Elijah W. Anderson, Jr., 15, were riding their bikes west on U.S. 301, according to a release from the Florida Highway Patrol.
Taylor rode into the path of a Dodge Ram truck driven by Cornelius Dwayne Williams, 31, of Seffner, who was traveling north on U.S. 301.
Taylor then collided with the truck and was ejected from his bike. He died at the scene.
Anderson also was hit by the vehicle but received only minor injuries.
Williams also was treated for minor injuries.
Both cyclists were wearing dark clothes, and neither bicycle had lighting equipment required by state law, according to the FDLE report.
No charges have been filed but the crash remains under investigation.
