Valrico Highway Construction Worker Killed in I-75 Crash

Two Southbound lanes of I-75 were closed earlier this morning following a crash that claimed the life of Robert P. Armstrong Jr. of Valrico.

A construction worker from Valrico was killed around 4:30 a.m. when he was hit and killed by a pickup truck on I-75 near State Road 60, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The pickup, driven by Logan Tanner Feagle of Land O' Lakes, struck a construction trailer before hitting Robert P. Armstrong, Jr. who died on the scene. Armstrong was a Valrico resident, said the Highway Patrol.

Workers were in the area moving traffic control devices and message boards along the shoulder of the highway.
