Valrico Woman Dead After Being Struck By Car

Sarafina Ann Elliott of Valrico was walking down Falkenburg Road when she was hit by a car.

A 31-year-old Valrico woman is dead after being struck by a car on Falkenburg Road around 8 p.m. Feb. 28.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, Sarafina Ann Elliott of
431 Bonnie View Dr., Valrico, was pronounced dead at the scene.

William Mathew Harrell, 22, of 403 Magnolia Ave., Seffner, was driving his 1996 Honda north on Falkenburg Road, approaching Fisher Drive in the outside lane, when Elliott crossed Falkenburg with two friends. The group had just left the Falkenburg Road Jail after attempting to visit an inmate.

Elliott's friends managed to cross the road safely but Elliott was struck by Harrell's car just before she reached the curb. Harrell was going about 40 mph at the time.

Harrell showed no signs of impairment, but agreed to a voluntary blood
draw for toxicology analysis.

No charges are pending at this time but the investigation is continuing.
