Video: Burglar Gets Locked in at Apartment Fitness Center

The suspect had to break himself out as the incident at Woodberry Woods Apartments in Brandon is captured on surveillance video.

A burglar mistakenly locked himself into the fitness center at a Brandon apartment community and had to break himself out, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office reports.

The man was captured on surveillance video entering the fitness center at Woodberry Woods Apartments, 808 Pineberry Drive, at 4 a.m. on Nov. 25.

He walked into a hallway where the vending machines were located and became locked inside. The video shows him smoking a cigarette and checking a couple doors within the hallway, then prying them open with a screw driver and a claw hammer. He exits, then is seen returning  to the vending machines with an electrical extension cord. He finally leaves five minutes later.
