Who Stole Sports Equipment, Concession Food From Youth Players?

Sports equipment and groceries eportedly has been stolen from three buildings at the William Own Pass Sports Complex in Dover.

Foul play at the William Owen Pass Sports Complex in Dover has been called after more than $6,700 worth of sports equipment and groceries was reported stolen from the Dover Youth Sports and Activities Organization.

The items went missing some time between 9 p.m. Aug. 6 and 1 p.m. Aug. 7, according to a report from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

Who is behind the theft is not known and the public is asked to step forward with tips that could help solve the case. 

What is known is that entry was forced into three buildings within the sports complex, at 1300 Sydney Dover Road in Dover, which serves as the home of Brandon Senior Softball and the Dover Patriots, according to signs posted at the entrance.

"Suspects cut through pad locks on the roll down doors and entered the property," according to the sheriff's office report. "While inside, suspects removed over $6,700 worth of sports equipment and groceries belonging to the Dover Youth Sports and Activities Organization. Items stolen included Nike cheer shoes, a laptop computer, Under Armour cleats, and concession merchandise. The suspects left the scene undetected."
