Brandon Democrats To Discuss Banning Offshore Drilling, at May 10 Meeting

Laurie Macdonald, Florida director of the national conservation organization Defenders of Wildlife, will be the featured speaker at the May 10 meeting of the East Hillsborough County Democratic Club.
Macdonald is slated to discuss bipartisan efforts to amend Florida’s constitution to prevent offshore oil drilling off the coast of Florida.
Just a year removed from the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, Macdonald will present the case for a permanent constitutional ban on offshore drilling.

The East Hillsborough County Democratic Club meets at restaurant in Brandon, at 11310 Causeway Blvd. The May 10 meeting is from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
