Deadline To Register, Change Party Affiliation Approaches

To vote in the 2012 General Election on Nov. 6 voters must register to do so at least 29 days in advance, which means the deadline to do so is Tuesday, Oct. 9. The deadline has been extended by one day this year because of the Columbus Day holiday.

• Oct. 9 — Last day to register or change party affiliation.
• Oct. 27 — Early voting begins in Hillsborough County.
• Oct. 31 — Deadline to request a Vote By Mail ballot to be mailed to you is 5 p.m.
• Nov. 3 — Early voting ends in Hillsborough County.
• Nov. 6 — Election Day

Three Ways To Vote

• Vote By Mail — Allows all registered voters to receive and cast a ballot from the comfort of home.

• Early Voting — All registered voters can vote at any of the designated early voting sites in Hillsborough County.

• Election Day (Nov. 6) — Registered voters must cast ballots in their assigned precincts.

2012 General Election Reminders
(From the Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections)

• If you’ve moved or changed your name, please update your voter information before heading to the polls.

• You do not have to vote on every race and/or issue for your ballot to count.

• You are allowed to bring your sample ballot with you into the polling room, but you must vote and submit the ballot given to you by the poll worker.

• All marked ballots must be received in any of the four offices of the Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections by 7p.m. Election Day, Nov. 6.
