Don't Miss July 16 Voter's Deadline for Registration, Party Changes

The Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections Office is reminding voters that the deadline to be set for the August 14 primary election is July 16. That's when new voter registrations and party affiliation changes must be received or postmarked.

The last day to register to vote or change your party affiliation for the primary election is fast approaching. The Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections office is getting the word out that if you're not signed up by tomorrow, July 16, you won't be voting Aug. 14.

Here's how to do that: Visit any supervisor of elections office, public library or driver's license office. Mail your new-voter application or party registration, postmarked July 16. The supervisor of elections office will stay open until 7 p.m. on July 16.

Florida is a closed primary state, which means only voters who are registered with a political party can vote for that party's candidate.
